PRESS RELEASE: NEW STRIDES 11/01/10

We at Digital Lizard Productions are pleased, honored, and ecstatic to announce that strides are being made in the right direction. In July, a newly revamped DigitalLizardProductions.com debuted featuring their no-budget Chicagoland productions, opinion blogs, and as much content as possible. In just the matter of months the website has reached numbers that no one expected, at least this fast. Along with about twenty thousand (20,000) video views the website has seen well over three hundred and fifty thousand (350,000) page impressions in just the month of October. It’s not Facebook, YouTube, or even FunnyorDie.com numbers by a long shot, but for this upstart production and entertainment company of three plus years it’s quite an accomplishment.

In 2007 Digital Lizard Productions was formed and we released the first movie, “The Moving Men” as well as shot many Chicagoland concert performances. In late 2008 we released “All The Love In The World”, their second movie. It went on to get some fair reviews and got us one step closer to our company and individual goals.

Since then, they’ve not released much. The planned third movie, “Upping The Ante” was scheduled to be released in late 2009. This has obviously not happened. Due to scheduling issues, loss of contact and a whole lot of bad luck the movie is STILL in production. It now slated to be released late 2010/early 2011. The appropriate changes and adaptations were made and right now they’re just working on scheduling. From there, post production shouldn’t take as long as a normal movie as it’s been being edited and worked on since the first day of shooting back in March of 2008. The revisions will make for a better movie and hopefully the waiting will be worth it. Digital Lizard is confident it will be.

In the mean time, Digital Lizard Productions would like to make the first official mention of a passion project. Since DLP’s start, they’ve always been close to a Chicagoland bands, musicians, and artists. One of those bands is Chicago’s Fashion Bomb. They’re not only a band they film, but friends with the production company. With the access they’ve been granted and the love for Fashion Bomb’s music there has been many hours shot. They filmed the band get ready at the “Visions of the Lifted Veil” CD release show last year at a show at Double Door in Chicago, backstage antics, interviews with the band, interview with the fans, never before seen footage, and some of their best performances to date. What is one to do with all of this? Make a kick ass documentary concert film.

So director/editor Michael Goodpaster has been editing away at this for awhile and it’s finally coming to a close. The current estimated release of “THE EVOLUTION OF FASHION BOMB Volume One: Behind The Lifted Veil” should happen before the year is up. In what form it’ll be released is still being ironed out, but it’ll be a good one.

Along with that, Digital Lizard Productions are currently in preproduction for our fourth movie, “Blue Midnight of a Better Tomorrow”. The main cast has officially been confirmed as Chris Deal (“All The Love In The World”, “Upping The Ante”), Kate-Lynn Edwards (“All The Love In The World”), and Keith Evans (“All The Love In The World”, “Upping The Ante”, “Nocturnal Emissions”). There are still other roles that Digital Lizard Productions are casting for. Digital Lizard Production is also casting for other upcoming projects including movies and web series. If interested please contact Michael Goodpaster or anyone else on cast or crew.

Things are coming together for Digital Lizard Productions and 2011 looks to really be their break out year. They would all like to thank everyone for their time, effort, support, and attention. 100% effort is being put into building Digital Lizard into something bigger and to reach full creative potential.

It is a pleasure to share our art with you.

Thank You,
Michael Goodpaster
