December 5th 2011 – Digital Lizard Productions wrapped the two plus year production of their third feature length independent movie, “Upping The Ante” about a month ago. The few weeks of post production and the editing process ended on December 3rd. Digital Lizard Productions is releasing this self produced movie online a mere 48 hours later!
Musicians have released material to the internet upon completion, but it’s not an area filmmakers have entered. The production of this micro-budget movie began in early 2009 and was planned for a release that year. Sadly due to day jobs, school, miscastings, scheduling, and a slew of events the movie’s production took a bit longer than expected. “Things have been chaotic, but it’s a project we felt we had to finish” says writer/director Michael Goodpaster, “we’ve come this far and it would be a shame to abandon it now”.
“UPPING THE ANTE” is the tale of two strangers from different sides of the tracks that swap confessions in a bar bet that escalates in hilarity and danger with each drink that passes.
On December 5th, fans of independent movies and dark comedy can watch the production for free at Digital Lizard’s website DigitalLizardProductions.com. “Upping The Ante” will be sold on DVD in the winter of 2012 through their website, Amazon, and other online outlets. The DVD will feature the full movie, commentary, a 30 plus minute “Making Of” Documentary, and more.
