Michelle Trachtenberg has had one awesome career so far and she’s still only 24. In the mid 90’s she starred as “Nona” on the underappreciated kids show “The Adventures of Pete & Pete”. Then in 96 she starred in “Harriet the Spy” as “the Spy”. She’d so a few more movies and smaller parts before landing the role of “Dawn” on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. She got her “nerd-cred” on the show and when it ended she ventured out into comedy and more adult roles. She rocked as “Celeste” on my favorite show of all time, “Six Feet Under” and starred in the raunch-com “EuroTrip”. I think at that point many dudes started to take notice of her. She was hot in that movie. There’s no other way to put it.
Then somehow she ended up back in the kid world as she starred in the “Ice Princess”. I won’t lie, I’ve seen that movie like two or three times and it’s not as bad as you’d want to believe. It’s got a paint-by-number typical plot and is all happy and gushy at the end, but she does well with it. She has a certain likeability to her that make it a joy to watch her in pretty much anything she’s in.
She’s had smaller parts in “17 Again”, Cop Out”, “Against the Current”, and other movies. On TV she still has a reoccurring role in “Gossip Girl”, appeared on “House”, on “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”, and had a main role in the failed NBC medical drama “Mercy”. I’d feel bad for her, but the show just wasn’t that good. She deserves and will surely get better. She’s just awesome. Any woman that can make me interested in a movie called “Ice Princess” deserves success. She’s on her way and her filmography thus far is varied, fun, and impressive. It’s only going to get better.
