Taylor Swift is pretty much the all American girl next door. She has sold millions of albums, been in movies, and was part of one of the biggest music stories in recent years. She cleaned up at the Grammys in 2008 taking home four including “Album of the Year”. All of this and she’s only 20. She grew up in Pennsylvania and was apparently home schooled. She learned three chords from a computer repairman and started writing songs. At 14 her family moved her to the Nashville area. She rejected a developmental deal with RCA Records and ended up signing with Big Machine Records. From there she put out a self titled album and “Fearless”. Both were pretty huge and she was on her way to being a house hold name, but it was the Kanye incident that cemented her place as a house hold name. In many ways, I think she owes him some sort of thanks for getting her in the news and making her the loveable victim. She’s obviously attractive, but she seems like a genuinely good person. She’s going to have a long career and the second a sex scandal comes out; she’s likely going to be a huge freak. That’s how it always works…
