[BLOG] VAGINA HERO
Carla Gugino

BY MIKEY MIGO

Carla Gugino has been around television and film for awhile now, but her work in the recent “Watchmen” kind of made her a nerd icon. But it’s her body of work before this that stands out to many in one form or another. The first movie I remember her from is “Son in Law”. Believe it or not, that movie was pretty popular at the time and Gugino looked hot in it. From there she consistently put out movie after movie in roles of all sizes.

It would be the 2001, Spy Kids to really feature her. This put her in a pretty widely successful kids movie trilogy. In the meantime she kept her edge in movies like “Sin City” and “Even Money”. She’d also do “Night at the Museum”, “The Lookout”, “American Gangster”, “Righteous Kill”, and about a million other awesome movies. Her television career is just as fun. She had single episode appearances on “Who’s The Boss?”, “Good Morning, Miss Bliss”(later renamed “Saved by the Bell”!), “ALF”, “Doogie Howser”, “The Wonder Years”, and “Quantum Leap”. That in itself rocks, but she had 12 episodes on “Spin City” and 9 on “Entourage”. There are a lot more, but those are my two favorites of the bunch.

It’s not hard to figure out why she gets so many awesome roles. She’s a good actress, she’s beautiful, and apparently she has great taste in roles. She takes chances, while still doing kid movies. That’s good stuff. If a varied career is a good one then she’s having a great one.
