Kat Von D has made a name for herself by vying the very creative trade of tattooing. If you’re a fan of skin art then odds are you’ve heard of, if not seen, if not fallen in love with the tattoo artist Kat Von D. She’s from Mexico but was moved to LA at the age of 4. When she was young she got into punk music. When she was 14 she got her first tattoo and by 16 she had dropped out of high school to pursue her dream of being a tattoo artist. She made her appearances on “Miami Ink”, got famous, had a falling out with the owner and left their business and the show. But because she was so popular she ended up getting her own tattoo shop in Hollywood and her own show, “LA Ink”. She has the TLC reality shows “Miami Ink” and then “LA Ink”, she has books, and she makes television appearances more than most TV stars. It’s just cool that in a world of Paris Hiltons and Heidi and Spencer’s that someone can make a name for themselves by just being really good at a specific field. She’s like the guys on “American Chopper”, but she hasn’t sold out and continues to be awesome.
