Norah Jones is that smooth voice that hits your ears out of nowhere on a random sunny day. Born in Brooklyn, she was in to music really early. Over the years she has been trained and skilled in piano, guitar, saxophone, and other musical instruments. She got into jazz as her mom was a fan of Billie Holiday, but she considers Willie Nelson as her mentor. That’s a pretty wide range of influences there, if you ask me. She would find herself majoring in jazz piano at the University of North Texas. There she hooked with Jesse Harris and started making music. She’d drop out of school in 99 to form a band with him. By 2002 she’d have the number one album in the country. With songs like “Don’t Know Why”, the album “Come Away With Me” was a HUGE success. In 2003, it won her give Grammy Awards including Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. As an established star, she let her hair down and did some more expansive stuff. She did some work with Ray Charles and tons of respected icons. Four albums later, she’s not going anywhere. Hell, she’s even starting to act. Norah Jones is only 31 and has PLENTY of time ahead of her. She’s got a great voice, full of soul and charisma, and is a beautiful woman. She’ going to end up releasing one of the best albums ever before it’s said and done. It’s almost a guarantee at this rate.
