"4 Reasons 2 Watch The View"

(FOUR) COFFEE TALK
The View isn’t a show that you can watch once or twice and have a valid opinion of. You need to let a week or two of the show linger in your soul to really get a grasp at what the hell is going on. Being the slacker I am, I have put in more than enough time to be able to tell you that YOU should watch it. If you’re like me, you’re just crawling out of the bed when The View is coming on. It’s a perfect show to drink coffee to while watching. It’s like you’re brain is starting back up and the level of discussion is just about always at a suitable level for a regenerating brain. It’s like the randomness and commotion of the show is a challenge to your thought process. It literally forces your brain to compute multiple opinions and cipher through the nonsense. By the time the third commercial comes on you are fully awake and hating yourself and the show. But you continue, because there are still a few more reasons to watch.

(THREE) THE GUESTS
Naturally Regis and Kelly are more consistent with the quality of their guests. The show has been around longer and bring in a different type of guest than The View. The View still brings in some pretty good guests. They bring in movie stars, musicians, writers, TV actors, and pretty much anyone pimping their current project or product. The show is all about the hosts. That’s sometimes the issue. Some celebs seem intimidated-slash-annoyed by the over-talking and chaos of the show. Those who face their fears and appear seem to always been interesting. If the guest is cool the segment goes over with some fun, but if the hosts don’t like the guest it’s even better! I wish the show would pull in some better names sometimes. If it’s good enough for the President of the United States of America then by-gawd, why the hell not Will Ferrell?

(TWO) “CONTROVERSY”
This group of women are often catty. They go back and forth and rarely hesitate holding back their claws. In the few incarnations I’ve seen of the show, which encompass around six years, it’s always been the same. There is always a segment that gets national attention over something “controversial” happening. And really, I think it’s increasing more and more. The first big one was Rosie and Elisabeth having their war of word and from there it’s snowballed. It’s snowballed so much that it’s hard to take serious anymore. It would be crazy on my part to try to list all of the “situations” that have gone down. Just recently there was all the drama about Bill O’Reilly saying something stupid and Whoopi and Joy walking off. Whatever. All of this has pretty much turned a once quietly fun and informative morning banter show into something somewhere in between Jerry Springer and the Tonight Show. Which one of those extremes it’s closer to all depends on the day. It’s car-crash television with moral convictions and I’m okay with that.

(ONE) TO WATCH ELISABATH HASSELBECK CRY
I’m on the other side of the fence of Hasselbeck when it comes to most issues. This doesn’t mean I wish harm on her or anything. She seems like a good person and cares deeply about her family, friends, and country. My issue with her is how lame she defends herself. Her voice gets loud, she talks fast and in segments, and if you poke back she WILL cry. It seems like on average she’ll start crying like 3 or 4 times a month. It can be about ANYTHING. If you disagree with her and argue her point she’ll get high pitched and the water works start. Seeing women and children crying isn’t my cup of tea and cringe worthy on mostly all occasions. I just think after watching this show for a few years I’ve become immune to her tears. I don’t seek them, but when it happens I can’t turn my head. It’s like passing a horrible car accident. You have to look and then later in the day you tell people about it. In this case, it’s an emotional train wreck with conservative values. It's like watching Sarah Palin stub her toe.
