"4 Facts: Mila Kunis"

BY MICHAEL GOODPASTER

(FOUR) BORN IN THE USSR
Mila Kunis was born in Chernivtsi, in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union. That’s so far away that I can’t even comprehend it. Her mom was a physics teacher and her dad was a mechanical engineer. The trek to get to the US sounds so crazy to me. Her family was allowed to move to the US via lottery. It was a five year process. First you go to Moscow, and then eventually you become allowed to move to the States. Her family would settle in LA in 91.

(THREE) NERD
She used to be really big into World of Warcraft. She brought it up in interviews and nerds all over the world got excited about it. She had to stop using voice chat because someone recognized her. She doesn’t play all that much anymore.

(TWO) LIAR!
In 1998 she was cast as Jackie on “That 70’s Show”. The casting call called for people at least 18 years old. She was only 14! They liked her, casted her, and then pretty much had to keep her after deciding her for the role.

(ONE) VARIETY OF ROLES
While she’s known for her comedy, she has done some randomness on multiple levels. She was in the horrible “American Psycho 2”, some indie stuff like the underrated “Moving McAllister”, the indie sex thing “After Sex”, action movie “Max Payne”, and random others. She does the big comedies, the indie comedies, the dramas, action, a little sci-fi, and keeps building an awesome resume. She stays under the radar, but with her work in “Black Swan” it’s apparent that she’s on her way.
