(FOUR) ELBOW DROP
Off the bat I want to specify my picks here. I know there are cooler moves than what I’m listing. I know in some random indie fed or in some random Japanese of Mexican company there has a to be a guy who does like ten flips in the air with three twists and an elbow. I know Jack Evans does a 1440 or something crazy. I saw Hayabusa’s madness. I’ve see people in my own neck of the woods bust out high flying moves that’d make a Wrestlemania crowd sit in awe. I’m sticking with the basics and with moves that have been featured on WWE TV or in the least TNA. To start off I keep it simple. The elbow drop, when done right, is a beautiful top rope move. Guys like Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, and even Perry Saturn have used this move to great success. It’s nothing too fancy, but with air it’s as awesome as any power move.
(THREE) 450
Call him Flash Funk or call him Too Cold Scorpio, but to me the 450 is always going to be his move. It’s been done by a lot of people in the past and whenever it’s busted out it always gets a huge pop.
(TWO) SHOOTING STAR PRESS
Marc Mero had an awkward pancake looking variation and Evan Bourne gives it a bit more torque, but my favorite shooting star press was always Billy Kidmans. He made the move look sick and the few times he screwed it up, which sucked for him, made the move seem that much more dangerous and risk taking.
(ONE) MOONSAULT
I was always impressed with the simple moonsault. Christopher Daniel’s moonsault is a thing of art in motion, but guys like Kurt Angle, girls like Lita, and just about everyone does it. Shawn Michaels would bust it out at times. Every light weight wrestler ever rocked this move. The move is simple in theory. It’s a back flip sending the force of your body onto an opponent, but it had tons of potential for twists. Jericho’s “Lionsault” is another good example of that. It’s just a cool ass move.
