(FOUR) FRIENDS FOREVER
Danny McBride went to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salen, North Carolina with some of his biggest collaborators. Ben Best, the dude who co wrote Fist Foot Way, Eastbound & Down, and Your Highness is more known for playing “Clegg” in Eastbound. Then they’re tight with fellow classmate in Jody Hill who is becoming one of the coolest comedic directors out there. It’s cool that they all came up together and ended up getting discovered together. After all that, they’re still busting out the gems as a unit.
(THREE) HE IS ONLY 34
I am a big fan of the dude, but if you told me he was only 34 I’d probably laugh at your face. He doesn’t look like an old man or anything, but he has an older vibe to him. I’d have probably said 44. I always wondered why he never blew up any sooner and that’s why. He’s still young as shit.
(TWO) GQ
Danny McBride is awesome and is a man’s man, but I wouldn’t expect to see him on the cover of any high end magazines. I’m happy to say my expectations were unraveled as the dude has graced the pages of GQ magazine. In fact, in 2008 he was named GQ magazine’s “Funnyman of the Year”.
(ONE) SPOKESMAN
On Eastbound & Down, Danny McBride plays Kenny fuc*ing Powers! He is great man and was once a great major league pitcher. The character is so over the top and well received that K-Swiss shoes actually signed him to an endorsement deal. It’s pretty bad ass when a fake athlete is stealing away endorsement deals from the money hungry pros. You’re F’n Out!
