(FOUR) EARLY START
She was born in Pennsylvania and was home schooled. With that she graduated from High School at 14 and ended up moving to LA in 2002 to go after acting full time. Before this, she did some smaller stuff like commercials and a few TV spots. I first remember her from the “Raising Dad” sitcom with Bob Saget. The show sucked, but I remembered. She did some random roles for awhile before landing a supporting role in The 40 Year Old Virgin. From there she was set.
(THREE) YOU GOT IT, DUDE!
Speaking of her great work with thespian Bob Saget in the show “Raising Dad”... Kat was born on the same day in the same year as Saget’s other TV daughters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Sorta weird coincidence, but apparently June 13th 1986 was a good day for the industry.
(TWO) BLOGGER
Kat Dennings is a pioneer. Going back to the dial up dark ages of 2001, Dennings has been blogging. She did the normal text blog, but moved on to her own YouTube channel for video blogs. It’s mostly her just rambling about randomness, but it’s entertaining. I don’t think she’s done any updates in a long time, but I didn’t read anywhere that she was done for good.
(ONE) BALANCE
This is going to sound negative or snarky, but I appreciate the fact that Kat Dennings does really lame stuff to go along with the awesome projects. It proves one of three things. Either she doesn’t turn down ANYTHING, she has a weird sense of humor, or she’s a nerd and has sometimes bad taste. Example? How about the good stuff first with 40 Year Old Virgin, Nick and Norah, and House Bunny(seriously). For all of that, there’s some CSI episodes, Sex in the City, and… yes, Big Momma’s House 2.
