(FOUR) THE LEDGE
The dramas of this summer are almost non-existent. So I’m going to go with a few technicalities and one movie that I’m really on the fence about. This is the one I’m on the fence about. I just can’t get into Terrence Howard, but on the flip side I’m a big fan of Liv Tyler, Patrick Wilson, and Charlie Hunnam. This one is a drama about a relationship that goes wrong leading to a man finding himself on a ledge of a tall building. Howard plays the cop that tries to talk him down. Sadly, if Terrence Howard was trying to talk to me I might jump.
(THREE) ROAD TO NOWHERE
The only person I know by name in this movie is Shannyn Sossamon. Sometimes one person is enough. This is a crime thriller type of drama, but looks interesting and artsy. The description tells of a weird balance of reality and fiction. That’s always fun.
(TWO) CONAN O’BRIEN CAN’T STOP
Do documentaries count? Eh… they do for now. Documentaries are always serious and show dramatic sides of things. I’m sure this documentary about Conan O’Brien’s tour, his departure from the Tonight Show, and everything else will be amazing. Pretty much anything with Conan’s name attached is.
(ONE) A LITTLE HELP
This movie has so much potential. It could pass off as a comedy, but it seems to be more dramatic in tone and nature. Either way I really want to see this movie for a few reasons. First it’s Jenna Fischer in a starring lead role. She is a very likeable, very attractive, and someone I think is overdue her own spotlight. The movie follows a woman who’s life loses perspective upon the 9/11 attacks. It sounds weird, but I’m really interested in this one. Of course I want to see the Conan doc, but this is easily my most anticipated drama of the summer.
