"4 Facts: Cedric the Entertainer"

(FOUR) ACTOR
Cedric The Entertainer has been in a handful of movies and more times than not, he’s awesome. In 1998 he debuted in “Ride”, but after that he was in Barbershop, Lemony Snicket, Talk to Me, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, and the much underappreciated Cadillac Records. His big headliner role was Code Name: The Cleaner, but it sorta sucked. I’m still waiting for him to land that right lead role. When he does he’s going to kill it.

(THREE) GOOD GUY
Cedric is a loyal man. He grew up in Missouri, but graduated from Haverhill High School in Massachusetts. Since he achieved success he is quick to spread around the good fortune. Every year he awards a scholarship to a graduating student of Haverhill High with his Cedric the Entertainer Charitable Foundation Inc. His charitable ways don’t end there.

(TWO) VOICE
Along with acting in movies and television dude does a lot of cartoon voice work. He was “Carl” in Ice Age, he was “Maurice” in both Madagascar, he did “Charlotte’s Web”, and that’s just film. On television he was “Uncle Bobby Proud” on The Proud Family and he does The Boondocks too. His voice is pretty identifiable and this is a smart area for him to work in. He’s funny and if can make some cash just by talking then good on him.

(ONE) ORIGINAL KING OF COMEDY
That “Original Kings of Comedy” concert film was amazing. There was never really anything else like it. It blew up huge and Ced was officially “made” at that point. Yeah, he was a big star before that but it put him on whole new level. The impressive thing is that it’s well past ten years since this 2000 release and he’s still at it. He makes movies, he hosts shows, and he’s out there a lot but he sticks to his stand up roots. I had a pleasure of his attending one of his shows in 2010. He hosted and let younger blood do their thing, but there was a cool moment with Jerry Seinfeld and he still took a few minutes here and there to tell us some hilarious stories.
