(FOUR) WILD AND CRAZY KIDS
I could have gone with any of the awesome Nick game shows. I was big on “Double Dare” and all its varieties, Nick Arcade, GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and the others. But if you ask me, and for the sake of this column we’ll pretend you did… Omar Gooding, Jessica Gaynes, and the always awesome Donny Jeffcoat rocked it. The show was awesome and promoted team work in the best light possible. The teams got cool colored shirts and competed in three different games. The games were wild and crazy, but when you’re dealing with wild and crazy kids you kinda have to go that route. The game I remember most had to be the “dizzy bat” game where the players would bend over and put their head to the bottom of a baseball bat. They’d then spin around really fast and for a while and then be expected to hit a ball. This had to have caused soooo many playground injuries that it can’t be anything else, but classic.

(THREE) CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL
Before Melissa Joan Hart made bad television shows from bad television stations, she was a TV teen queen. She rocked as Clarissa Darling on Clarissa Explains It All. She was just a cool kid. It was like if Ferris Beulher was a young teen girl, but with all the charm. She dealt with normal issues and it was all presented in a cool way. For its time, the show was on the cusp of pop culture and had it’s finger on the pulse. She’d eventually get cancelled and return as a teenage witch. If you ask me, Clarissa would kick Sabrina’s teen witch ass all over town.

(TWO) SALUTE YOUR SHOOTS
I have never had a conversation with anyone who did not love this show. It wasn’t the best show of all time, but I think it carries place in most mid to late 20-something’s hearts. Its hard to believe this show only lasted 26 episodes. You’d think from all the memories and fondness we all have for it that it lasted at least a few more seasons than two. This show as fun because it like going to camp, but without the actual camp part. Who didn’t want to hang out at Camp Anawanna? Here’s a heart breaker, but I feel it’s better coming from me than a stranger… there is no Camp Anawanna. They shot at different locations around Los Angeles, but mainly on sets. Doesn’t that sting a little? Stupid, Ug! I still hate him!

(ONE) DOUG
The theme song is so amazing that I can honestly say I’ve not seen the show in close to ten years but I can still hum the tune. This show WAS the 90’s. From 1991on, it ruled the decade. They even kept with scattered shows in the late 90’s on Disney and ABC. Doug was the cartoon you watched when you didn’t want to see animals talk or really abrasive crap. The humor was smart and the show had a certain since of class. With Ren & Stimpy and Rugrats, it was one of the original three cartoons from Nickelodeon. The characters were just awesome. How could you not want to hang out with Skeeter and Porkchop? How could you not want to hide from the bully that was Roger Klotz? And what about that vixen Patti Mayonnaise? Grrrar!
