"4 Facts: Anne Hathaway"

(FOUR) SHAKESPHERE’S WIFE
Most people who consider themselves fan of this young actress don’t even realize that Shakesphere’s wife was also named “Anne Hathaway”. That Anne Hathaway married the famous scribe in 1582 and was famous in her own right. The modern Anne Hathaway is easily one of the top few actresses under thirty.

(THREE) RELIGIOUS
Born in Brooklyn but raised a Jersey girl, Hathaway actually considered becoming a nun at one point in time. She was raised Catholic and had strong values and morals due to her upbringing. When she was 15 she decided against taking the vow when her old brother came out. She didn’t feel right about being part of a religion that would condemn her brother’s orientation. In a recent interview she described herself as a “non-denominational Christian” and that while still spiritual that her beliefs were a work in progress.

(TWO) ACTING ROOTS
In school she did a lot of stage acting and developed a love for the skill. Her favorite actresses are Audrey Hepburn and Meryl Streep. Those are two solid influences and she seems to of absorbed their best features. The first movie she shot was “The Other Side of Heaven” and then the big hit “The Princess Diaries”. Before even getting to shoot “Heaven”, she was cast in “Princess Diaries”. So off the bat she had a lot on her plate.

(ONE) ALMOST KNOCKED UP
An interesting fact is that she was originally cast in Katherine Heigl’s role in the modern comedy classic “Knocked Up”. The weakest part of that move IS Heigl, so this would of made for a better movie. She dropped out because she didn’t want them to use real footage of a woman giving birth and pretend it was her. The “crowning” shot was a shock laugh, but it didn’t make the movie any better or worse. Hathaway would have made it better. I really wish I hadn’t of read this recasting information because I’ll never be able to get that out of my head in future viewings. She’s done a variety of stuff, but I’d still like to see her vulgar it up in a R-Rated comedy.
