"Top 4 Samuel L. Jackson Roles"

(FOUR) SNAKES ON A PLANE
It’s hard to believe this movie is over five years old now. Yeah, this pick is a little weird. This movie sorta sucked, but it was so outrageous and fun at the time that I can’t really hate it. The whole story and the snake kill scenes are really over the top. Only one man could carry this movie with a sense of bad-ass-ness. Sam Jackson. The “motherf**king snakes on this motherf**king plane” line is going to be part of cinema forever.

(THREE) SOUL MEN
It was Bernie Mac’s last movie. I think that’s what most people will automatically say if they even know about this movie at all. The movie starred Mac and Jackson as former friends and band mates in a soul group. Fame and money is back at their doors so they have to put their dislike for each other to the side. What ensues is a vulgar and fun road trip of a movie starring these two pros. Their chemistry was fun and I would like to think they’d work together again if it weren’t for Mac’s untimely passing. Fun stuff.

(TWO) UNBREAKABLE
People either love or hate M. Night Shyamalan movies. His early movies were his best, but he’s still making movies of quality. People often hang their hat on “Sixth Sense” as his best, but I am a huge fan of Unbreakable. Here he plays a frail man who runs a comic book shop. His relationship with Bruce Willis’s character is crazy and the end is amazing when you first see it. He is often playing a bad ass type and it’s really cool to see him go a different route in this one. He did way better than anyone gives him credit for.

(ONE) PULP FICTION
Is there any other pick to go with for number one? Nope. I don’t think we’d be reading-slash-talking-slash-writing about Samuel L. Jackson today if it weren’t for his break out performance in this break out movie. Jules is a bad ass and is so cool that he made John Travolta look cool. He is so awesome that Travolta just being around him wore off on his enough to resurrect his career. All joking aside, I’m serious.
