"Top 4 Aaron Eckhart Roles"
10/15/11

(FOUR) MEET BILL
This movie was a bit too dry for me. I suppose myself included. I appreciate this movie, but I don’t know if I’ll go as far as saying I really enjoyed it. Eckhart’s performance was still pretty impressive. He executive produced this indie and starred as the title character, “Bill”. He was a bit of a loveable loser and in the end it’s clear that Eckhart is not shy about going all out.

(THREE) ANY GIVEN SUNDAY
This movie is awesome. It’s one of those movies that I can only really think of like three other people in the world who love this movie. It’s easily my favorite football movie of all time. Yeah, I said it. I just really enjoyed this movie. The cast was awesome and the style was pimptastic. Eckhart plays a good-hearted and honest team doctor. It wasn’t a huge role, but for me this was my first exposure to the guy. For the first few times of seeing him in things I was all “That’s the good team doctor from Any Given Sunday!” Weird, but I at least connected to the dude in some fashion.

(TWO) THANKYOU FOR SMOKING
Eckhart carries this one. There is a great ensemble cast and it’s an interesting story. Aaron Eckhart makes bullshitting an art in this movie and really makes the main character likeable despite the fact he’s pretty much selling cancer. I really enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it. The next four dozen? Not so much. I think this movie is a victim of overexposure. The type of person that would typically enjoy this kind of movie would get really tired seeing this over and over again. Be it IFC, Sundance, HBO, or any other network. It’s all the same. I think there is a government plot to make sure this movie is on TV at least twice a week.

(ONE) THE DARK KNIGHT
Surprised? You shouldn’t be. I’m a huge movie snob and I don’t want to admit this, but The Dark Knight was easily one of the best movies made in the past ten years and is a milestone in comic book cinema. Everyone always talks about Heath Ledger when talking about this movie. He did a great job and so did Christian Bale. I just think Aaron Eckhart was the shit in this movie.
