"Top 4 Episodes: King of the Hill"

(FOUR) THE WITCHES OF EAST ARLEN
I wouldn’t say I’ve seen every episode, but at least 95% of them. In this one, Bobby gets sucked into a wiccan-like nerd cult. They play with multiple sided dice, make potions, and do a whole bunch of weird lame witch stuff. It’s super nerdy and is funny. The main nerd is voiced by David Cross so that also helps a bit. Fun episode.

(THREE) CHURCH HOPPING
The Hill family’s pew at church is given away to a new family by the new female preacher. They are offended so they change churches. They end up going to some big corporate-like super commercial church. I think I appreciate this episode because of my Catholic school upbringing and my dealings with some huge local churches. Churches should be stadiums, have merchandise, or have jumbo tron screens. While I’m far far FAR from a religious person, I still like my churches to be a bit more humble. I’m glad that in the end, the Hills agree with me.

(TWO) REBORN TO BE WILD
Another religious-based episode? Wow. I didn’t really put in to perspective this sort of thing. Kind of the Hill is a pretty wise when it comes to their perspective on modern forms of Christianity. In this episode, Bobby gets into X-Game stuff. He starts dressing like a member of POD and being extra “cool”. The problem here is that the people he’s hanging out with are treating religion like it’s a trend or a fad. Sadly, this is going around all around us. TONS of young people are going the extreme route of being a reborn Christian. Sadly, it’s mostly the biggest hypocrites I know. Sadly, people ARE treating Christianity as a status symbol. Hank gets this point across in the end.

(ONE) BOBBY GOES NUTS
This is by far my favorite episode of King of the Hill. There are plenty of episodes I didn’t include here, but I have to go with this one. Bobby is supposed to take a boxing class at the YMCA after getting bullied. The class is full so he takes a self-defense class for women. The result is Bobby going around kicking people in the balls and then shouting “that’s my purse! I don’t know you!” at the fallen victim. It’s GREAT. He finally meets his match in a “ball-less” Peggy. Great stuff. It’s the funniest episode of the series if you ask me.
