4 Wrestlers That Should Host SNL
12/10/11
BY MICHAEL GOODPASTER

(FOUR) THE BIG SHOW
Big Show is a big man and in most cases a spectacle when he’s around. He’s just a huge presence and a special attraction. Once you get past the awe, you realize how charismatic this guy is. He can be hilarious and has no problem making himself look silly to entertain a crowd. At the same time, he IS a monster if he wants. I think the fact that he can switch it on and off so easily and still have a naturally funny charisma is why he’d rock on SNL at least once.

(THREE) MICK FOLEY
Ugh. I just can’t get behind him anymore. As a teenager I loved him, read his books, and really got wrapped up in his work and words. As time went on he became the exact opposite of what I felt he represented. He’s become just another sad wrestler who still clings onto wrestling in roles and positions that are nothing more than a glorified “special appearance”. Have him commentate or something… SOMETHING useful enough to merit his long winded dust talk. Never the less, people still love him (self included) and enjoy seeing him. He CAN be witty and funny. His books are well versed and I hear his stand up isn’t all that bad. Still, I can’t think of many people who’d go as balls to walls with the opportunity to host SNL like a Mick Foley.

(TWO) CHRIS JERICHO
This one makes a lot of sense. Jericho has been all over pop culture. He hosts weird game shows, he hosts weird award shows, weird dance shows, and he just pops up all over. He sings, he wrestling, he acts, he hosts,… he does it all! The man is a natural born performer and entertainer. His promos have made for some of the most entertaining and funniest moments in wrestling. He’s got a weird reach of success. He should be famous, but he’s on this C-List/B-List VH1 level. All it takes is that ONE role though. He’s still got plenty of time for that.

(ONE) THE MIZ
The Miz has been on MTV shows and seems to be one of the go-to guys when it comes to doing mainstream press for the WWE. The company is really pushing him as one of the premiere faces in professional wrestling. I could imagine if wrestling took an upswing that he’d be a prime choice to host. I have no reason to think he wouldn’t be funny and make the best of it. Imagine “Really?!? With Seth… and Miz”! Perfect.
