Top 4 TLC Matches

(FOUR) EDGE VS. JOHN CENA (September 17th, 2006)
I had enough. Around this time, I was really starting to have trouble really caring about WWE anymore. It was because of the over-pushed, goody-two-shoes, shit fest that is John Cena’s face work. He makes old “Say your Prayers” Hogan look like Bin Ladin. He’s just too “good”. Edge was always one of my favorite heels. In fact, I could probably put him in my Top 5 of all time because of how much I enjoyed his work over the years. Of course, Edge made the match decent but Cena winning was anti-climatic and exactly what WWE was rehashing over and over at this point… and now… and probably for the next few years…

(THREE) EDGE VS. UNDERTAKER (June 1st, 2008)
This match is REALLY underrated. It headlined “One Night Stand” and was pretty brutal. The main problem with the match was all the run ins and attacks on the Undertaker. I get it though. They don’t want him to look weak and all that. The ladder tip into the tables almost killed Undertaker. Edge won and Undertaker was to leave/”retire”/whatever… of course he came back.

(TWO) EDGE VS. RIC FLAIR (January 16th, 2006)
I remember this one very fondly. In fact, I almost made it my number one. It was a normal Monday Night RAW and the match was signed… Edge vs. Flair in a TLC match. At this point Flair was already really old and slow, but still had that “I’m not retired YET” sense of dignity(sadly, that would change). Edge beat the shit out of Flair. Flair was always a bleeder, but he was never really a “hardcore” type. It was crazy to see him, one of the most technically sound, go all out like that. Edge carried him to a really fun match.

(ONE) EDGE & CHRISTIAN VS. THE HARDY BOYZ VS. THE DUDLEY BOYZ (August 27,2000)
You had to always give proper credit to the firsts. This was the first “TLC Match” and really the match that set the standard for the WWE’s Tag Division for the first part of the Millennium. Edge and Christian won. I remember certain spots from the match and I’m sure they’ve all been duplicated over and over again since, but this was pretty insane. It’s one of those matches that all long time wrestling fans should see at least once. If you haven’t seen this match, consider this your assignment.
