4 Reasons Alec Baldwin Rules
02/14/12
BY MICHAEL GOODPASTER

(FOUR) CLASS
Alec Baldwin is the American version of James Bond. I can’t imagine him in anything other than a suit. He’s not afraid to get political and express him opinions. He’ll stand up for charity. He’ll do all of this in a suit and with perfect Superman Kennedy hair. He’s that smoking cigar, fedora and scotch of the old days. I’m a heterosexual dude, but I can’t deny the fact that Alec Baldwin’s swagger is unmatched by 99.9% of men.

(THREE) HUMOR
Alec Baldwin comes off so old school and suave that you’d not really expect him to be as hilarious as he is. He obviously finds enjoyment in mocking things, laughing, and having a fun time. He proves that he can and will go that extra distance in getting a laugh. The thing is that he just comes off so for him that it seems easy.

(TWO) BODY OF WORK
Alec Baldwin has had some great success. He got to play Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October! He was in Beetlejuice! He was in The Departed, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, and a variety of other random but insanely awesome stuff. The whole time he was doing movies, he was still popping up on TV. He was Knots Landing, Goosebumps, The Simpsons, Friends, Clerks: The Animated Series, Fairly OddParents, Nip/Tuck, Will and Grace, and we all know his work on 30 Rock. And yeah… of course he’s been on SNL too. He’s currently the leader for the host who’s been on the most. He might as well have his own dressing room and office at the studio.

(ONE) VOICE
It’s been recently described by a friend of mine and myself as “Alec Baldwin Puberty”. It’s when a grown man’s voice changed again once they secure their alpha-maleness like Baldwin. The whole quiet and raspy talk he does on 30 Rock is only a little amped up from what his voice normally sounds like. He just sounds like what a Adam West-Era Batman villain should sound like. In 2009 he took on a hosting job for “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. He recorded public service announcements for “Save the Manatee Club”. Now he’s taking it one step farther, he started working on a podcast last year.
