(FOUR) PLATO
It was her or Dana White. I’ll go with “Kimberly Drummond” over the UFC douche any day of the week! She passed away way too early and was a victim of being a “child actor”. She got into the wrong things and hopefully became an example for at least someone out there. She was enjoyable on Diff’rent Strokes and I think she could have done well for herself afterwards as well. Gone too soon.
(THREE) DELANY
I think I’ve always had a celebrity crush on Dana Delany. As a kid I was just drawn to her. Something about her makes you want to pay attention to her. I think it also helped that despite me probably not understanding the content, but still “coming into manhood” when the movie “Exit to Eden” was on cable all the time. Before that she was on a lot of TV shows and had a slew of various successes. After the sexy comedy (that felt creepy to type) “Exit to Eden” she’s still popped up on a lot of TV and has voiced “Lois Lane” in a few different cartoons. Yeah… she did Desperate Housewives.
(TWO) GOULD
Dana Gould used to rub me the wrong way. I laughed at his jokes and appreciated his work, but I never really “got it” with him. Well, he grew on me. He wrote for The Simpsons, he was on Seinfeld, and his stand up spots are really damn good. His podcast is on its own level of awesomeness. I still think despite his awesome history he still has a lot of great work ahead of him.
(ONE) CARVEY
Dana Carvey is the coolest and best Dana I could think of. He was “Garth” and the “Church Lady” for crying out loud! He put in some great years on Saturday Night Live and then his stand up spots and talk show appearances are enough on their own. I’m sure there are famous Dana’s that I didn’t include on this list, but I’m also sure that Dana Carvey is the Top Dana.
