(FOUR) ROOTS
Amada Peet started off with stage acting. She studied at Friends Seminary and then graduated from Columbia. Her first roles on screen were small parts. She was in a Skittles commercial, appeared on “Law and Order”, and a few other small spots. Her first film role was “Animal Room” in 1995 and she’d go on to be more independent movies for awhile.

(THREE) ACTIVIST
Amanda Peet volunteered to be a spokeswoman for a non-profit group that advocates childhood vaccination. She got tired of hearing all the wacked out rumors and wrong information out there. You know, the nuts who think vaccinations are bad. Yeah, she’s trying to educate those folks.

(TWO) FILM STAR
In 2000, she landed the role in “The Whole Nine Yards” with Bruce Willis. It was her first wide release role and pretty much instantly pushed her into the spotlight. People magazine named her one of the 50 Most Beautiful People that year. From there she stared in “Saving Silverman” with Jason Biggs and Jack Black. After this she was pretty much set. She had roles in “Changing Lanes”, “Something’s Gotta Give”, “Syriana”, “A Lot Like Love”, and of course “The Whole Ten Yards”. The 2007 comedy with Zack Braff and Jason Bateman called “The Ex” should have gotten more love. The movie was hilarious as it was charming. Then she was in the X-Files sequel and recently in the disaster movie “2012” with John Cusack.

(ONE) STUDIO 60
In 2006, she was in the VERY UNDERRATED show “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”. The show was great and should have been given a chance to breathe longer. Peet’s Jordan McDeere character was a big reason as to why the show was great. I’ll never fully forgive NBC for cancelling it.
