(FOUR) BACHELORETTE
I don’t want to say it, but this isn’t Bridesmaids 2… what the hell? It’s a “deeper” take on the same thing. A dickish woman who is used to be the first at everything and the best at everything finds out someone she looked down on and went to high school with is getting married before her. She hooks up with her friends, Lizzy Caplan and Isla Fisher, and throw a crazy bachelorette party. There is coke, booze, vulgar language, and crazy antics. I like the cast and I’m pretty sure it’ll still be good. It’s the plot and premise that seems a little bland. It’s been proven in the past by way less talented people that what seems like a boring and bland premise doesn’t automatically mean the movie is going to suck. I’ll watch this.

(THREE) FOR A GOOD TIME CALL
This looks like it could be fun. Ari Graynor and Lauren Miller star in an R rated comedy about two former college frenemies who end up having to make ends meet via opening a phone sex line. There seems to be a little surge of “a group of 20-something girls trying to make ends meet in the city” with “Two Broke Girls”, “Girls”, and now this. It’s like Juno grew up and can’t pay her bills. I’m not hating on it though. The people involved seem really cool and genuine about their movie. I’ve heard good things about it and I have no problem being open minded to it. I just hope they don’t go the route where one of them falls in love with one of the callers… or someone they’re in a love story with calls in on whim. That kind of stuff is predictable from a mile away. From the buzz this movie is getting I’m thinking the normal contraptions aren’t going to be as abundant. At least I’m hopeful…

(TWO) THE WATCH
This movie looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m always a sucker for R rated comedies. In this movie we get Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and the soon-to-be-everyone’s-favorite Richard Ayoade. The other ingredients are there too. It’s directed by Akiva Schaffer and was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. That’s a comedy all-star team for those keeping track at home. There are plenty of other familiar faces in the trailer as well. The story is about a group of slacker men who form a “neighborhood watch” in order to hang out and get away for a while. This leads to them uncovering some alien shit and a plot to destroy the world. They rally together and have to fight off the bad guys. I like it because it makes me think it’s like Old School meets Ghostbusters. Vince Vaughn needs to be in more comedies like this. I look forward to him and Jonah Hill bantering. Richard Ayoade is awesome in “The IT Crowd”, a UK show that you should already know about. He has great reactions and is hilarious in his own right. I’m not looking at this to be “this year’s Hangover” or anything, but it should surely live up to the big R-rated summer comedy standard. You can tell this is one of those movies that basic cable will be showing on a loop. That’s not a bad thing at all.

(ONE) THE CAMPAIGN
Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis in a comedy together? I vote yay! Just in time for the real election, this movie is about two Southern gentlemen trying to win an election in North Carolina. Will Ferrell’s character, “Cam Brady” has had no competition and is a political rock star. All is good for him until Galifianakis shows up as “Marty Huggins”, a polite man shows up to run against him. From there hilarity is sure to ensue. The supporting cast sees Dan Aykroyd, John Lithgow, Jason Sudeikis, Dylan McDermott, and the all-powerful Jack McBrayer. The trailer looks hilarious. This movie is going to sell a lot of tickets based on the faces on the poster, but it’s safe to say this movie will be hilarious. Galifianakis has done solid work, but hasn’t had that huge hit without the word “Hangover” attached to it. Ferrell is always awesome, but to many fans he hasn’t had a great comedy since Step Brothers. I think this movie will take care of both of those situations. As far as comedies go, I look forward to this movie the most.
