4 Recent SNL Catch Phrases

(FOUR) I’M ON BOAT!/LIKE A BOSS!
Andy Samberg owns this list. So much that he gets TWO of the big lines from the “Digital Short” series on here. It was a toss-up for me. I’ve found myself repeatedly saying “I’m On A Boat!” and “Like a Boss!” over and over again. I could have went with “It’s my dick in a box” or “jiz in my pants”, which both were great… but “I’m on a boat, motherfucka!” or “like a BOSS!” wins this round.

(THREE) SAY HELLO TO YA MOTHA FOR ME!
This catch phrase was so awesome that it ruined an actor for me. I was never a huge Mark Walberg fan, but this ruined him. Andy Samberg busted out the impression on two shows where he talked to animals. He finished each little segment with “say hello to ya mother for me!” Marky Mark would show up and Andy never did it again. Marky Mark ruins EVERYTHING.

(TWO) WHAT UP WITH THAT
“ooooow-eeeeee… what up wit dat?” This is my favorite recurring SNL sketch in the past few years. It’s just a lot of randomness and weirdness. I love the sketch so I love the tag line. There is nothing more to analyze about it.

(ONE) REALLY!?!
This became part of the vernacular. I don’t know if it started with SNL, but after Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler started doing the “Really?!” segment it started to blow up. The whole condescending “Reaaaally?” thing was EVERYWHERE. Shitty commercials with annoying teens and soccer moms. TV shows, movies, and everywhere. For a while the whole “really?!” thing was running rampant. It became a pet peev after a while but eventually settled down. Regardless of my annoyance it showed how bad ass important SNL is.
