4 Things I Miss V.34

(FOUR) CIRCUIT CITY
I never liked Circuit City. I just don’t like how cocky Best Buy is getting. Circuit City closed in 2009. At the time it was the second biggest electronics retailer in the country. Now Best Buy just sits out there by itself with smaller companies scattered around. It’s not cool. I’d like to see Circuit City come back just to see them sweat a little. I know this is probably the weirdest thing and reason I miss something so far…

(THREE) UPN
UPN shut down on September 15, 2006, and merged with The WB, which was shut down two days later, to form The CW Television Network. UPN was a good little network. At the end they let themselves go, but they were a solid addition to the TV line up. They once had programming like WWE Smackdown, Veronica Mars, Everybody Hates Chris, The Parkers, Girlfriends, Top Model, and a slew of other solid shows. It’s where Buffy the Vampire Slayer got to finish off the last few seasons. They had 7 seasons of

(TWO) CAMELOT MUSIC
How horrible is the music store game when I’m missing the better corporate chains now. I used to love Camelot Music when I was a kid. It had stores all over the Midwest and Southeast or it was called “The Wall” in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region. This store was cool and very welcoming. They were the known for their “Lifetime Guarantee” on things. They actually replaced CDs and cassettes if they were damaged in any way. They also let people listen to their music before they bought it and they gave away a lot of stuff. Those mom and pop shops didn’t have a chance…

(ONE) KB TOYS
Toys R Us obviously won this one. KB Toys was always different than Toys R Us. It was a little more “ghetto”. It didn’t feel so stuffy and fake. It felt like a REAL toy store. I remember going to KB Toys at the mall as a child and it being a crazy good time. The aisles were cluttered and tight, toys were everywhere, employees were not helpful, and it was still during a time when it was safe enough for kids to just wander around the mall. Do kids even have this kind of chaos option for their toys now? If so, I doubt it’s as cool as KB was.
