4 Reasons 2 Watch NBA’12

(FOUR) THE NFL IS ALREADY LAME!
As I write this, my favorite local team is doing pretty good. That doesn’t change the fact that the NFL is just kind of lame this year. The whole replacement ref thing at the beginning of the year just proved how hokey the league can be. The controversy gets more attention than the actual games anymore. The rules are so strict that we’re not going to see the same bone crunching action we older people used to watch on those bad ass old NFL films high light reels. The NFL is still fun to watch but once the holidays are over there is barely anything left to watch. By the time the NFL is over with their measly 16 game season the NBA will be like two months away from their All-star break. If it comes down to a Sunday or Monday and I’m faced with Bears or Bulls… I’m going with Bulls.

(THREE) TO SEE WHERE EVERYONE WENT!
This past off season has been bonkers! The Los Angeles Lakers went Miami Heat style and bought themselves a few top tier All Stars. Now they have Dwight Howard AND Steve Nash on top of their already stellar line up. Then Miami added Ray Allen. Then I know both New York teams added some studs and there is always Boston, Oklahoma City, Chicago, and the Texas teams. I know for sure the Bulls have more new people than old people so their bad ass bench has been replaced. I know the superstars got around, but it’s the rest of the league that I’m excited to see around.

(TWO) THE SUPER POWERS MUST DIE!
The kids watching at home need to know that you have to work hard and earn your victories. Instead they’re seeing specific teams going out and buying and trading for the top players in the league. It’s saying “you don’t want to help this losing team win you can always go to a team loaded with great players and get the easy win”. It’s bullshit. Players like Reggie Miller and Patrick Ewing stayed loyal to their teams. They never got their rings because they poured themselves into making their teams win. Lebron didn’t do it in Cleveland so he left. If he was THAT “great” he could have made something out of nothing. This is a huge trend and is killing the smaller markets.

(ONE) WE GET A FULL SEASON THIS YEAR!
Last season was a shortened one because of the lock out. The league crowded tons of games into a short few months. It was entertaining for fans, but a lot of top players found themselves banged up and on the reserve list. For proof of this, check out how many of the All Star starters passed on the 2012 US Olympic team. Last year the season didn’t start until the end of December. Now we get the good late October start up. The Halloween candy is still fresh and the best basketball players in the world are doing what they do. Booyah!
