(FOUR) PSYCH
I could have gone with about five comedy shows that could have been on this list. There are some obvious snubs and in some cases it’s on purpose. Glee ain’t no comedy, folks! It’s a farse! A FARSE! But yeah… Psych! I never thought I’d say this, but Psych has quickly become one of my favorite shows. I always saw the commercials during RAW and the way USA advertises their shows it makes them all seem the same. I never liked Monk and from the bits I’ve seen of Burn Notice the “Character’s Welcomed” stigma made me stay away. I finally caved in and caught up on the ninety five episodes and six years of this show. It’s not overly dramatic, but it’s also not overly silly. It has a great flow that’s comparable to a 30 Rock, a Scrubs, or even a MASH. The cast is great, the homages are great, and it’s one of the most enjoyable and fun shows to watch. If you haven’t watched it, give a season or so. It’ll take a few episodes to get caught up in the rhythm and the characters, but once you do you’ll have a hard time not watching them all.

(THREE) LOUIE
Louis CK is the man right now and I think we’re all cool with that. He has paid his dues, proven he does what he does out of love, and has innovated and trail blazed his way into much deserved mainstream acclaim and success. It’s not like he’s done. He’s only going to rock further more. His show is a unique brand of dark comedy, surreal thoughts, and satire. He goes places that most shows would never consider and the HBO-type shows aren’t creative enough to work out. He not only writes it, stars in it, directs it, and edits it… but he does all of it very well. Sadly, season four won’t start until early 2014.

(TWO) 30 ROCK
30 Rock is one of the most consistently funny shows on television. 30 Rock! The show is as good as ever. The sixth season was sweet. There was so much randomness going on that you didn’t realize all of the characters were having really cool arch’s and growth. That’s the magic. It’s hilarious and gets you laughing the whole time, but it sneaks in the depth like a mom hiding the peas under the potatoes. It’s sad to think that the seventh season is going to wrap up before too long and the show is going to end. That sucks.

(ONE) IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA
How this show seems to always get ignored come award time and come “best lists” is criminal. For the past seven or so years this show has been on FX. It’s a “D.I.Y” project gone right. If you like crude, vulgar, and extremely creative entertainment then this is for you. Somehow these guys continue to come up with crazy plots and no matter how crazy and surreal it gets it still maintains that “gritty” vibe. I feel like the people who don’t like this show or even the ones who don’t watch it really have never experience real laughter and amusement. Until you’ve rocked out to “Day Man!”, point out “green man” every time you see one in a crowd, and hate Rickety Cricket you don’t know. You just don’t know…
