Top 4 Underachieving Wrestlers

(FOUR) CHRISTIAN
Christian won the ECW Title and did get a short run on Smackdown with the big gold belt, but all in all I think most people would have expected more. Christian and Edge were a great team, but Edge took off and had a Hall of Fame run. Christian left WWE and did good in TNA, but no one cares about TNA. When he was first starting the “Captain Charisma”, “the peeps”, and all of that it was awesome. It was seriously the best part of the WWE product for a few months. Then he left for TNA and it went away with a snap of a finger. He’d show back up and win some stuff, even a World title, but I don’t think anyone is going to go out of their way to talk about it. It was just uneventful stuff and felt uninspired. Christian can be a great wrestler, can be great on the mic, and can do it. The problem is he just hasn’t had that big memorable feud. That and getting his heel/face status right would go a long way.

(THREE) JACK SWAGGER
He won the Money in the Bank, won the title, and then did nothing. He was with Dolph for a while, but that went nowhere. No one is getting behind this guy one way or another. He has an interesting look, he’s skilled, and he has a lot of upswing but no can really connect with him. He’s in the same weird area of Chris Masters. Tons of talent and upswing, but for some reason they just don’t get the reception. You can blame the writers or whatever, but when I see Jack Swagger I am almost instantly bored. That’s not completely their fault.

(TWO) SAMOA JOE
Samoa Joe was the king in Ring of Honor, but lost his mojo more and more with each year that passes in TNA. Joe was in the same discussions as CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and those top indie guys. He was bad ass and brought something new to the wrestling world. Joe has done well in TNA. He’s had some good matches, good feuds, and won some belts but never got that right push to really establish him as the beast he was in ROH and could have been in TNA. He just seems faceless in TNA, which is really bad. I hope it’s not too late for him.

(ONE) CHRISTOPHER DANIELS
Christopher Daniels ruled in the independents back in the day and has had a great run in TNA. To me, he’s the biggest underachiever because I always wanted to see him show up in WWE. Even ten or fifteen years ago I’d think of how great he’d fit in to the roster. The TNA career is perfectly respectable, but since I’ve known of Christopher Daniels I’ve seen huge things in him. I remember seeing him at an independent show in like 2000 and was enthralled by his work. I just imagined his natural progression would be him landing in WWE and in the least having some amazing memorable IC Title match at a WrestleMania.
