(FOUR) A “RE-DEBUT”!
It’s pretty cool that wrestling will sometimes allow for someone to reinvent themselves. A lot of guys will evolve and change from good to bad and everything in between, but those guys get the luxury of longevity. Others get pinned down with characters that don’t pan out. So what will sometimes happen is that these people will get a second chance to redebut as a new character or even just the idea of showing back up after being gone for a while. Undertaker, Chris Jericho, The Rock, and Hogan are a few who have mastered it on a huge level but then guys like Mark Henry, Chavo Guerrero, Christian, and Jeff Hardy get to bounce around. In some cases, like Kane or Ryback it pays off huge.
(THREE) THE CORNER TAG ROPE!
It’s not used nearly enough or given much love. In a good and real tag team match, there will be a little rope that comes from the corner that the outside partner has to hold onto for their tag to be legal. When was the last time a ref didn’t allow a legal tag because the guy wasn’t holding the rope? That shit matters.
(TWO) PUNCHING THE AIR IN DESPIRATION!
This one needs explaining. I don’t mean punching upward or anything weird like that. I’m talking about a long grueling match that finds itself in a blow for blow fist fight. The two fighters trade blows and there is that dramatic point of desperation where someone is so out of it, but still in such forward of a momentum that they just swing outward in hopes of connecting something… anything. Good stuff.
(ONE) COUNTING OUT LOUD WITH A CROWD!
Where else can you scream outward and count with a crowd as much as a wrestling show? Boxing has a ten count, and MMA has whatever but wrestling has helped so many little dumb kids learn how to count than anything else. There is the three count, the five count warning in the corner or ropes, the ten count for the count out, the ten count for punches in the corner, the ten second count down for Royal Rumble, etc. etc. etc. I’m not even sure if I like wrestling anymore, but counting out loud is fun.
