(FOUR) RAVEN vs. TOMMY DREAMER
This whole column idea is that I wanted to think of big feuds that would have benefited from being in a Hell in a Cell match. Be it they were from a different era, a different company, or just didn’t get the chance, These are a few matches that would rock in a Cell. The first one that comes to mind would be one of the best feuds in ECW, Raven and Dreamer. I considered Taz vs. Sabu or even Taz vs. Shane Douglas, but Raven and Tommy makes the most sense. This would have kept the nest out of the ring and they could have just filled the cell full of violence. Imagine the moment where Tommy Dreamer has Raven on top of the cell, face covered in blood, he screams “EC-fucking-W” and drops a Spicolli-Driver that takes them both through the cell through a flaming table. It’s sounds so barbaric that the only way I can even visualize it is in grainy redubbed VHS quality with bad tracking.
(THREE) DDP vs. MACHO MAN
DDP and Macho Man’s matches in WCW were among my favorite for the companies entire run. To me, this feud carried WCW for a few years. The nWo, Goldberg, and the cruiserweights were getting tons of attention, but this match was like the spine of show. These two workhorses put on entertaining matches for a while and had a good old school feud. Putting that in a cell would be crazy.
(TWO) OWEN HART vs. SHAWN MICHAELS
This was a really underrated feud. Bret and Shawn get all the attention, but one would argue that Owen and Shawn put on much better matches. They seemed to have great chemistry and their styles really complimented each other. They had a great storyline where Owen kicked Shawn in the head and took him out for few months. They did a little blow off at the end of this, but at this point Michaels pretty much went straight into his Bret stuff. I can’t help but daydream at the idea of a Shawn/Owen Hell in a Cell Match on a Wrestlemania or even Summerslam.
(ONE) BRIAN PILLMAN vs. STEVE AUSTIN
This is another feud that never got it’s legs. Pillman and Austin had a great built in feud, but never really got a shot to dig their teeth into it. They had a GREAT moment where Austin broke into Pillman’s house that involved guns and some great acting. It was seriously one of the craziest moments in wrestling history, hands down. Pillman’s crazy personality and Austin’s roughneck badass personality would have printed money. If they let this feud progress it’s craziness from the point of that break-in/gun moment then this feud would have been a natural choice for a cell match.
