(FOUR) COOL KID MOVIES
Kid movies are lame now. Back in the day a good PG kid’s movie had some edge to it. There was some rebellion and some good hijinks, but at the end of the movie you learn a lesson, learn something about yourself, and really appreciate what you just saw. Would a movie like “Problem Child” or “Home Alone” be the same today? Not at all. Kid movies aren’t allowed violence, bad words, or basically… fun. Cloudy with a chance of complete boredom! Poor kids.
(THREE) ICE CREAM FACES WITH GUMBALL EYES!
There were so many cool ones that I’m sure I can’t remember all of them. The basic WB characters were represented. I vividly recall Bugs, Daffy, and the normal choices. The one that stands out me were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ones. It didn’t end there. Mostly everything cool in the late 80s and 90’s had one of these things. The hard ass gum balls were practically inedible due to the deep freeze and the ice cream itself wasn’t that great. But dammit. I want one right now.
(TWO) MR. BOGUS!
Who else misses this little creepy character? Mr. Bogus looked like a skin-head troll doll. He had the same face and features, but no hair. Poor dude. This show was on from 91 to 93, but whenever I hear a reference I instantly light up. If you don’t know what’s up, I recommend a Google search to educate yourself.
(ONE) MAUDE FLANDERS
Maude tragically died years ago. Seriously, YEARS ago. She died in 2000. It doesn’t seem that long ago, but she has been dead now for over a decade. She was a really underrated character. She had some good lines and was a good mom to Rod and Tod. I also would have rather not watched Ned go through those awkward single moments and dates. Rest in peace, Mrs. Flanders. You are not forgotten.
