"4 Reasons 2 Watch NBA '10"
10/09/10

(FOUR) BEST SPORT THERE IS
Some folk love their NFL, some believe that the “American Past time” is baseball, and of course there are real life Hockey fans are out there. You can have all that. While I can enjoy a good football game and baseball has its moments, the sport I look forward to the most is basketball. There are more lead changes, more variations of scoring, the best athletes, the coolest athletes, etc. etc. etc. The NBA is the most “rockstar” of all the sports and the most consistently entertaining and enthralling.

(THREE) NEW STARS
The next generation of awesomeness is here. On my Chicago we have D-Rose and J-No, but there are definitely some great players out there waiting to officially step up and take over. Kevin Durant is an obvious pick. He’s awesome and is going to dominate for many more years to come. There’s Tyreke Evans, Rondo, and Chris Paul being slept on most of the time. Then we have the rooks like John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins who are going have no problem stepping up, but that’s still a “we’ll see” situation. But then again, all of these plays are a “we’ll see” situation. But the waiting and seeing is what makes it fun. Odds are the next big thing will come out of nowhere.

(TWO) TO WATCH MIAMI FAIL
The “Big Three” is going to fail. It must for the sake of humanity and all that is good in the world. James, Wade, and Bosh came together to form this super team and for most of the summer we had to deal with the constant annoyance of all that surrounded James leaving Cleveland and “Decision 2010”. JaBroni James made a lot of enemies during his ego parade. Wade and Bosh could save a group of orphans from a burning house and still be hated… just by association. That’s how screwed up LeBron was during this past off season. All the hoopla aside, Kobe Bryant is still the best player in the league. James knows he can’t touch him so he’s using the “I want to play with friends” nonsense to make him look less of a complete b*tch.

(ONE) CHEER ON YOUR FAVORITE TEAM
DA BULLS! I’ve made it a mission to watch as many Bulls games, keep up on players, standings and all that comes with being a real fan of basketball. They’re looking pretty damn promising this year and I’m excited about it. D-Rose and Noah are the building blocks for the future and I’ve enjoyed watching them develop in their young careers. I had the same kind of faith in Captain Kirk and Ben Gordon, but that didn’t work out that well. Never the less, I stay true. If you live in the Chicagoland area then you notice a whole lot of “lifelong” hockey fans popping up right around the Blackhawk victory. It’s all crap. Before they won the cup I could count on one hand people I knew who were real hockey fans. Then bam! All aboard the championship bandwagon! I’m expecting the same this year for the Chicago Bulls. People are going to dust off their old Jordan and Rodman jerseys and try to claim the team as their own. That’s fine. Just look how many Sox fans popped up after they won in 05. I’m sure this is the same everywhere else a team hits a stride of success. You can get behind a winner all you want. You’re still a douche.
