"Top 4 Halloween Movies"

(FOUR) ERNEST SCARED STUPID
You might have to be at that right age to have appreciated the Ernest movies. There ended up being a lot of them. So many that I kind of lost count. The ones I remember were Ernest Goes to Jail, Ernest Goes to Camp, and I think Ernest Goes to Africa. Seriously, I’m not sure about that last one. At one point, Ernest movies and Leprechaun movies started having so many retardiculous sequels that it was hard to keep track of them. Never the less, I remember enjoying the Scared Stupid and Camp ones the most.

(THREE) DONNY DARKO
Donny Darko is one of those movies. It’s became a “cult classic” for a short period of time, but then less and less people still talked about it. It still doesn’t change the fact that it’s an awesome movie. I realize that when most people think of this movie the aspect that it’s a Halloween themed movie probably slips your mind. But then you realize, “Oh shit, it WAS!” This is at least how I’m taking this all in. I’m also coming to terms that Donny Darko was emo. That’s a bummer to accept.

(TWO) IT’S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN
This movie is a classic. In 1981, we were blessed with this great take on Halloween. They manage to turn Halloween into some wholesome. The whole aspect of waiting for this majestic “Great Pumpkin” is so much different than the normal ghouls and ghosts. It’s safe to say just about every year this movie is on a channel like ABC or ABC Family.

(ONE) HALLOWEEN
Duh. The movie is called “Halloween” for a reason. Mike Meyers goes around slashing the hell out of people in a big goofy looking masked mechanic looking costume. Why does this not automatically freak people out? Because EVERYONE is in a costume on Halloween. It’s a genius idea for a horror movie, but comes off so simple and casual in the movie that people don’t give it the credit it deserves. The murder scenes can suck, the dialogue can be cheesy, and the actors can be as annoying as hell but as long as the movie has the iconic image of Michael Meyers. Halloween makes it work.
