I’ve heard a little about this movie before. I’ve seen websites bring it up fairly often over the last few months. I knew it was an action movie that cast a lot of young female talent and that it was from the 300 guy. I liked 300 for the one viewing I had, but it ended up being kind of forgettable. People will still bring it up. It was a solid action movie and it looked really cool, but at the end of the day it’s not one of those “must see” historic movies. I don’t expect that from Super Punch either. From the looks of the trailer it’ll for sure look amazing. If you have ever been one of those “let’s get wasted and go see this movie” type of people then THIS is probably one of those movies to experiment with. I’m not encouraging this, but I definitely condone it. It’s an IMAX movie, but the downer is that it’s PG13. Going into it knowing it won’t be completely “gloves-off” dampers it a little, but I’m still optimistic for a good movie watching experience. It looks awesome, it’s well casted, and it could easily be a surprise “too-good-to-be-nerdy” sci-fy movie. Maybe like more feminine, more hipster Matrix-like awesome. Like if kids that just got done growing up with Lord of the Rings needed a Matrix movie to get them though college. That could be THIS movie, but I won’t put too much stock into it. I’m just hoping for a good popcorn flick… that’ll blow my mind.
