Why the hell would anyone want to watch this movie? That’s the first reaction, but as the trailer plays over and over my stern wall of machismo is chiseled away. The part in the trailer where the bunny poops jelly beans? Aw-shucks cute. The problem is that this movie makes a lot of sense. Why the hell is there not a big time Easter movie? There are tons of Santa movies, Halloween flicks, and even a few Thanksgiving… but no Easter? That’s messed the eff up. So as stupid as this movie looks, it’s a really smart project. If it has a hint of charm it’ll make tons of money in the end. What the hell is TNT going to show three times in a row on the Easter holiday weekend? This movie. The movie does look cute though. I hate cute. But still, others love cute and cute makes money. James Marsden is a dripping vanilla milkshake thrown at a white wall. He’s boring and I’m pissed that Brendan Fraser was not in this movie. I do like Russell Brand, but if I’m going to see a movie with him in it I’m waiting a week for Arthur. The rest of the cast is pretty okay with Kaley Cuoco, Hank Azaria, Gary Cole, Elizabeth Perkins, Chelsea Handler, and others. No one on it makes me any more excited, but I’m sure they all are fun at times. But I have a fear that despite the sure fire success this movie is going to have it’s going to be a big ol’ stinky pile of jelly beans.
