[BLOG]PREVIEW:REVIEW
Jack and Jill

BY MICHAEL GOODPASTER

For the love of God! I want to cheer on and keep supporting Adam Sandler, but he’s getting lamer and lamer. I loved his older movies and his more serious acting stuff is very under appreciated. It’s just these boring paint-by-number family comedies are crap. He’s quickly becoming the white Tyler Perry. I suppose that could be positive if you’re looking at it from a “manipulation is a fine way to make money” stand point, but from an artistic and comedy stand point it’s one of the biggest insults I can think of. It’s sad to think that I’m not surprised by this. I’m actually a bit surprised it’s taken Adam Sandler THIS long to do a “wacky female” character. Also, I’m sure we’ll get a few over the top gay jokes, dudes in polos and khaki shorts, “surprise” appearances from Adam’s SNL friends, and really hot women being a love interest to Adam Sandler. I know I sound negative and to be honest I don’t feel bad about it. I’ve watched too many of his recent movies and have been disappointed. I don’t want to watch this movie really at all, but the sad thing is that I’ll probably still watch this monstrosity. I find myself watching these Adam Sandler movies just out of habit now. I suppose I can have a little bit more optimism because of Robert Smigel’s involvement. Other than that, I have no reason to watch this…. But I will.
