I don’t know why this movie drew my attention, but here I am doing a write up on the trailer for this limited release PG13 indie rom-com movie. I don’t think that’s a fair statement though, but it’s the facts. It doesn’t look like a run of the mill PG flick. It does seem to have some edge. It does involve romance and comedy, but it’s not Owen Wilson, a dog, and the actor that played Marley. (ouch, I kid! I kid!) The movie stars Pete Facinelli. For people who don’t watch Twilight he’s the asshole jock guy from “Can’t Hardly Wait” and he plays “Dr. Cooper” on “Nurse Jackie”. He can be a pretty entertaining dude in the right entertaining role. This movie seems to suit him pretty well. It should because he wrote it. He plays a pickpocket in New York who gets in over his head after knocking up a one night stand. In the trailer I recognized Vincent Gallo, Michael Madsen, Joe Pantoliano, William Forsythe, and others. One stand out was Christy Romano, “Ren” from the awesome show “Even Stevens”. I’ve not seen her in awhile. The taste of the characters, the plot, the action, the one liners, and things like that seem like a lot of fun. To be honest I still don’t know what made me watch this trailer, but I’m glad I did. Now if anyone of us come across a movie called “Underworld Awakening” at a theatre (remember, limited release), on PPV, or on cable late at night we’ll know what it is. I’d totally watch this movie down the road. I’m probably not going to go out of my way, but I’ll be open minded once our paths cross.
