A friend of mine turned me on to this indie mockumentary about independent wrestling. It's seriously one of the funniest and truest views of indy wrestling that I've seen. If "The Wrestler" is the serious melodramatic side of the sport then this movie was the lighter side that shows that it can be a fun time as opposed to a tragic attempt at being loved or accepted. For the well acted roster of this movie, you get to see some of the goofier and entertaining aspects of things. The first few minutes of the movie is set up to explain the definition and use of long-known wrestling terms like "job", "gimmick", "color" etc. They even cover "the worker handshake", which even by the time for my generation of independent wrestling came around, has always been a joke of a tradition. From there we get into the story that the promotion is going to shut down in two shows. Hilarity and a good underdog story ensues. If you're a fan of professional wrestling then this movie is a MUST. If you or anyone you know has been involved with indie wrestling then you'll cringe at how boldly true it is. I'm still half cringing as I give it a full recommendation.
