"WAR INC"
5/21/08
BY MIKEY MIGO

This past weekend I got the opportunity to see an advanced copy of "War Inc". I won't discuss how I got to see the movie early, but I'm glad I did. I've always been a huge fan of John Cusack's acting and writing. Before viewing I researched and found that this would be a political comedy. That's normally not my cup of tea, but as the movie goes on I got more and more drawn in to this not-so-bizzaro world that's been created. One aspect of the movie that took me off guard was Hilary Duff's role in the movie. She plays a pop star on the opposite side of the spectrum that was "Lizzie McGuire" and is really hott when doing so. Ben Kingsley, Marisa Tomei, and Joan Cusack all rocked in their roles as well respectively. My biggest gripe was not enough Dan Aykroyd. I saw he was in it and got excited. To me, Aykroyd is in need of a new big break out role. He's funny, talented, smart, and has been enjoyable to watch going back to SNL days. Maybe my youth of seeing "The Blues Brothers", "Ghostbusters", "Dragnet", or even "Nothing But Trouble" spoiled me. Nonetheless, I unbiasly recommend this movie. If you're expecting a parody like Cusack's "Tapeheads" then you're in for a rude awaking. If you're looking for something like "Wag The Dog" then again, you're not going to get that either. Really, it's just a good political satire that I'm sure all the conservative, god fearing, and flag waving republicans will enjoy. "War Inc" is released in LA and NY this weekend and I encourage everyone who can to go see it once or even twice. It's a shame that John Cusack didn't put out a public screening of this in his former home of Chicago or else I'd be there. If you're geographically blessed in this situation then I suggest you take advantage of it. If you enjoy political satire, parody, and a good look at where we're headed then get to a theatre this weekend. I wouldn't lie to you.
