"TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY"
10/14/10
BY MIKEY MIGO

Six years after the first, in 1991, James Cameron released the first sequel to one of the coolest sci-fi action franchises ever. I have always considered “Terminator 2” to be my favorite action movie of all time. Rewatching it this past week, proved the movie to be just as great as I remembered. I was seriously kind of worried because sometimes old favorites don’t stand up to the level you put it on after so long. That’s a huge disappointment to have to deal with. Thank Jebus that T2 still rocked. It’s about a million times better than the already pretty awesome 1984 original. With Guns N’ Roses on the soundtrack, it being a time when grunge was still edgy, and some of the best special effects of the modern era it is easily one of those movies that should be in a led super safe when the world swallows itself. This time we meet up with the life of John Connors, played by the awesome hair cut having Edward Furlong, and he is ten years old living with foster parents. His mom, Sarah, still the lovely and mean Linda Hamilton from the original, is put away in an institution because no one believes her about the shit that went down in part one. Now the bad cyborgs send back another super Terminator, this time a T-1000, played by Robert Patrick , and his mission is to kill the eleven year old boy. Future John Connors sends a terminator of their own, a cyborg that looks like the bad guy from the first one, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, to protect John and by proxy Sarah. It’s badass from there. Patrick’s evil borg can turn into liquid metal and it made for some awesome effects. I remember just being amazed by how awesome everything looked. When in comparison to the first one, it’s pretty obvious how much technology had advanced in that six year timespan. I’ve seen probably tens of thousands of movies in the near twenty year time span since this movie came out and I can still with full confidence say that this is still one of the best action movies of all time. Outside of some corny pop culture styles at the time, I really have nothing bad to say about this movie at all. A
