[MOVIES]RANDOM MOVIE REVIEW
"FIGHT CLUB"

This is another one of those movies that I've owned on DVD, twice in fact, but every time it ends up missing. This past week I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it for the first time in a few years. I often consider it one of my favorite movies and after this viewing it pretty much confirmed that idea. I love this movie. I am not an avid reader, which is kind of a shame, but after this movie I ended up going out and reading anything Chuck Palahniuk. David Fincher's vision of Chuck's work was insanely innovative and inspired. The acting of Brad Pitt, Helena Bonham Carter, and especially Ed Norton captured the essence of the characters as well as the full attention of the viewer. The tone, pacing, and feel to this movie are almost dream-like. I can't say enough about how great this movie is. It's one of those movies that'll always be regarded as awesome by movie fans years to come. The one thing about watching it after not seeing it for so long is that you start to pay attention to the little things and there are a lot of little things. I never put it into real terms before, but this time I took something different from the movie. Maybe it's my maturity, but the movie is (to me) really a love story. Marla pretty much sticks with Norton/Pitt's character through out all the nonsense and insanity. Then finally at the end Norton realizes he needs her in her life. The movie has many layers. I'm sure another viewing will give me yet another perspective. Isn't that what art is supposed to do?
