The only thing I knew about this movie was that it exists and was being made along with the fact that Amanda Seyfried from “Big Love” was starring in it. I was told it was going to be “darker”, but it’s from the lady who directed the first Twilight so my hopes were shot down. Once I heard that I filed it in my brain as “don’t care anymore”. Then I saw this trailer. There are two ingredients to this trailer that switches me back to being interested. The first is a cheap one. They use “The Hand That Feeds” by Nine Inch Nails as background music. Cheap, I know. They’re still my favorite band and when I hear their music I pay attention. The second is the awesome Gary Oldman. Oldman rarely ever disappoints. The movie looks good visually. It’s not too “Tim Burton-ish” and it doesn’t look like winter in Degrassi like Twilight. It’d vivid and cool looking. I’d have to compare it to 300 from the glimpses I saw but it all depends on the scope I suppose. I’m more open to it now, but I’m not rushing to see it. A weird twist and take on the little red riding hood story could be awesome, but I don’t want to get my hopes up for it.
