WWE No Way Out 2012 Preview
06.12.12
BY MIKEY MIGO

There isn’t much to say about the No Way Out Pay Per View. The idea of “No Way Out” should include more than just one cage match. I’d like to have seen a strap match, a cell, a lumberjack match, and matches that would restrain the wrestlers. There is really no thriving storyline that has an urgency of there being “no way out.” Needless to say, my expectations are low as they can be for a throw-away PPV. We’re just waiting for Summerslam at this point, but I’m sure Money In The Bank will have more importance based on the title match alone. The cool thing about wrestling is that just went your expectations are low and your attention is elsewhere a story or match will totally pull you back in. I don’t expect that to happen, but I’m still looking on the brighter side of things and hoping for some solid performances.

There isn’t much announced. It’s said that Triple H will appear. I assume this means twenty minutes will be put to the side to drain the life out of the show. Triple H just says stuff and stands there. I’ve been a fan for a lot longer than most and I can finally see the magnetism and presence isn’t there. Sadly, this will be on the show but Brodus Clay and David Otunga are stuck in the pre-show YouTube match. I liked the old “Free For All” shows before the big PPVs. WWE should do more exclusive matches like this. I think it’s obvious that Brodus Clay will destroy him, but I’m going to go with the shocker of David Otunga stealing the win. I want Cody Rhodes to win back his IC Title from Christian. I really doubt they’d take it off Christian so soon so he’s the winner. Cody should move on to Money In The Bank, but he’ll most likely end up lost in the shuffle. I hope I’m wrong.

I’m excited to see Dolph Ziggler get a chance to go after the World Title against Sheamus. I always want to see the best from both of these guys, but I’m iffy if their chemistry is going to work. Their matches on TV were decent, but not all that. Sheamus still needs to work with people who are more seasoned than him and Dolph needs someone who can make him look good and legitimize him as an upper tier star. With the injuries, suspensions, and smaller pool of talent I’d think they might want to extend this a little. Either Dolph sneaks in the win or he’ll lose and officially drop Vicki. I want Dolph to win, so logic points to Sheamus winning. I hope I’m wrong.

The Punk/Bryan/Kane match can’t be all that good. I like Kane, but he’s more of a brawling spectacle than a normal match guy. He’s just going to get in the way. I imagine a lot of potentially cool stuff being stopped by big boots and throat thrusts. I’m sure AJ will get involved with the match. I expected her to go with Kane, but after she kissed him on RAW I don’t think so anymore. It just sucks that this storyline has become more about a love triangle and a girl than the wrestling and the belt. I think Punk retains and the match will be a mess. I hope I’m wrong.

I’m sure the main event will be the John Cena match. The John Cena match is ALWAYS the main event. Who wants to see John Cena take on Big Show again? No one. Adding a cage and some backstory isn’t going to change that. I’ve never enjoyed the matches between these two. I’m sure there will be Laurinaitis shenanigans, but it’s nothing I care about. John Cena wins. As far as I’m concerned the show ends when this match starts. The roster is thin right now, but that’s no excuse. The buildup for this show was been crappy. Nothing makes me want to order the show. I hope I’m wrong.
