"Money In The Bank’s Chump Changing"

“Worst Case Scenario” is a new take on the concept of “fantasy booking”. For years professional wrestling fans would spend endless hours of thinking up the coolest things that could happen. Why waste the energy? This only leads to high expectations. “Worst Case Scenario” flips that. Instead of looking through rose colored glasses, let’s take a bi-weekly look at the worst possible scenarios in professional wrestling. I’m not going to be malicious or anything too mean, but I will not refrain from letting my brain come up with the worst possible shit I can. Sadly, it seems the writers and producers of mainstream TV wrestling and the mainstream iPPV level indies are doing the same thing but charging us for it. And now…

“Money In The Bank’s Chump Changing”

The idea of Money in the Bank is really cool. You take a few wrestlers put them in a ladder match and the prize is a title shot that can be taken at any time the winner wants. These matches started off at WrestleMania and stole the show. These matches featured some of the best wrestlers of all time and gave us some of the coolest moments in modern wrestling.

Then they took the match away from WrestleMania and turned it into its own Pay Per View event. Instead of it being a featured attraction, it became THE attraction. They’d make it the main focus of its own show and from there it would lose some of its luster. While ladder matches are awesome, this epic idea isn’t as epic as it used to be.

Today I’m going to ruin it!

TNA ripped the idea off by putting different title shot in different brief cases and one case with a “pink slip” in it to “fire someone”. That’s one way to ruin the cool idea of “Money In The Bank”, but I’d like to take it one step further.

The Money In The Bank match in this world will now be a “Losers Leave” match and much more. So say there are eight guys in the match. There is one brief case hanging, but there is also a “buzzer”. The first winner gets the brief case. From there the other seven men much each fight there way up the ladder and press the buzzer to “save their career”. The one man who doesn’t make it up the ladder and press the buzzer is the “chump change” of the match and is FIRED!

Meanwhile the winner gains more than just a World Title match whenever they want. They get a shot at ALL the titles! They get to challenge the World Champion, the IC Champ, the US Champ, and the Tag Team Champions whenever they want. They could also use the contracts for their own advantage and give them away to their allies or others. Once transferred though, the challenger must schedule the match and can’t spontaneously take it. Meanwhile, the Money in the Bank winner could also choose to go after ALL the belts.

Basically, John Cena would win this and then defeat every champion in one night.
