I suppose it’s good that I’m transferring these over to some form of digital copy before these tapes turn to ash or something. Sorry about that, but it’s still definitely worth checking out. *)
I really wish we had the whole match here. What we do have is most of a 2001 match between Wendell Sunshine and Twist. This was MEW at the start. A bunch of young and dumb kids just barely out of school, putting on a show for anyone and everyone that would cough up the $10 or sneak in with a wrestler. These two worked pretty good together. I’m racking my brain and I don’t think these two every fought in the same match again after this match. At least not in MEW. I’m fairly certain this is Wendell’s first match and probably like the second or third for Twist. This match ends up being way better than it should have been. Most likely a benefit of these two being pretty avid about practice and training for the months leading up to this show. In the end, Twist gets the win and advances in the MEW World Enterprise Title tournament and Wendell would go on to be in the Main Event that night.
