MANIAK MOMENTS EPISODE 4: MATCH 1

EPISODE GUIDE

Episode: 4 Match: 1
MACHINE vs. Tank Escobar
Event: THE TABLES HAVE TURNED
Date: 05/23/04
Duration: 9:13

MIGO's TAKE

There’s something about this match that I still like. This was the last MEW show and this match features two guys that have been around since day one. Tank’s character went through many changes, but towards the end he really came into his own as Tank “The Dream” Escobar. Machine was always awesome in MEW. He was a former MEW World Enterprise Champion and would of won it again if the shows continued. A lot of wrestling shows feature “big man vs. big man”, but they’re rarely good. This is surprisingly pretty decent. They pull all stops and put on a MEW main event quality match. Dare I say this is Tank’s best match in MEW? I’m leaning towards yes on that. He and Machine keep is simple, it looks clean, and Tank in tassels is something that needs to be seen by everyone in the human race before they die. The ending of the match sees Bryan Johnson, leader of “Team Firepro” walk up, casually trip Tank, and cost him the match. The “666 Bomb” at the end is deadly! Good stuff.
