If you adjust a little, it works and you can still hear some commentary, the crowd, and the bump sounds. This is a horror of dealing with old VHS tapes. I suppose it’s good that I’m transferring these over to some form of digital copy before these tapes turn to ash or something. Sorry about that, but it’s still definitely worth checking out. *)
I once told someone that Aaron Halifax was going to be huge and bigger than a “quasi-famous” Chicago independent wrestler at the time. I was laughed at for saying it, but I honestly felt so. Halifax had all the tools to be a really solid hand. He had the build, he was athletic, he had the look, and he had the charisma. He easily could have done some good stuff in wrestling if he had lasted longer than the few months he was around. And for the record, the “quasi-famous” Chicago independent wrestler never did shit either and only maintains the smallest amount of notoriety with the thousand or so same fans that went to shows over the five or so years his career was “boomin”. Whatever and anywho. We also have Kaleb Pierce. Pierce was and is one of my favorite MEW performers to watch. I enjoyed his stuff then and I still do now going on a decade later. If Pierce had taken the asshole routes that most indie wrestlers take he would be on TV right now. I honestly feel he was that good. This match was decent enough. The ceiling is way too low for two high flying athletic types to really get a great match in, but they manage to do fairly well. This is Halifax’s like fourth or fifth match and you wouldn’t know it. Pierce did a great job carrying him through it and the ending actually worked out as planned. The idea was to have Pierce, Mac, and Evans be a small stable called the CPUs… “The Centerfold Pin Ups”. THAT would have rocked.
